RAZ的全称是“Reading A-Z”，它是一套教授英语阅读的教材，是美国1万多所学校采用的在线分级阅读资源。中国大部分的国际学校也都是RAZ的忠实用户。
RAZ本身有着非常严密的分级体系：根据全文词汇数、高频词词汇数与比例、低频词词汇数与比例、句子长度、句子复杂度、句式、插图信息量、思想深度、主题等多个角度，将整个阅读体系分为aa，A-Z共27个级别。
RAZ旨在帮助孩子找到适合孩子水平的级别，通过在同一级别下的大量阅读逐步提高孩子的阅读能力。
RAZ按难度分为27个级别，AA—C这4个级别对应幼儿园阶段; D—J这7个级别对应美国小学一年级;K—P这6个级别对应美国小学二年级;Q—T这4个级别对应美国小学三年级;U—W这3个级别对应美国小学四年级;X—Z对应美国小学五六年级(相当于国内高中毕业)。
到了L级别，句与句之间的逻辑关系强，需要孩子能理解才能读下去。内容上跟国内的儿童小故事类书籍差不多。

There once lived a king who had eleven sons and one daughter.
He married a wicked queen,
and soon after the wedding she turned the princes into eleven wild swans.
With a strange cry, they flew up into the clouds and away.
The king asked the queen if she knew where the princes were.
She merely smiled and shook her head.
At dusk the swans returned.
They flew through the open bedroom window of the princess, Eliza.
As the Sun set, their feathers fell off, and Eliza’s eleven brothers stood before her.
“By day, we fly about as wild swans,” said the oldest brother.
“Each night when the Sun sinks, we become human again.”
That night, Eliza dreamed that a fairy came to her.
“Your brothers can be released,” she said.
“You must gather nettles from the forest and use them to knit eleven shirts.
If the shirts are thrown over the eleven swans, the spell will be broken.”
